Since its first program in Ecuador in 2006, ISV volunteers have worked with landowners, indigenous people, communities, and other conservation organizations to educate children in environmental issues, help in reforestation and sustainability efforts, gather data, and develop community infrastructure. Over 900 volunteers have contributed thousands of hours of hard work planting community gardens, gathering seeds and planting trees for reforestation, teaching environmental education in rural communities, building playgrounds from recycled materials, monitoring Humpback whales in their southbound migration, and starting clean-up and recycling programs from the Andes mountain valleys, to the Amazon, and the Coast.
