Canadian - Int’l Flight Options and Group Fares – Costa Rica

OPTION #1 /ISV Group Flight - Fly to Costa Rica on Lacsa/TACA Airlines Standard 4-Week Program & 2-Week Volunteer Only Program (with or without Spanish Lessons)
ISV Group Flights to Costa Rica originate from one of the following cities listed below.
All group flights arrive into and depart from San Jose (SJO), Costa Rica.
All participants must arrange their own domestic flights/transportation to and from their chosen departure city
Cost for ISV Group Flight is as follows:
Flights originating from Los Angeles, CA Cost for round trip flight LAX-SJO-LAX is as follows: Canadian Participants: $285.00CAD (plus taxes & fees)
Estimate of taxes and fees as of Jan. 2008= $125.00CAD
Flights originating from Miami, FL Cost for round trip flight MIA-SJO-MIA is as follows: Canadian Participants: $265.00CAD (plus taxes & fees)
Estimate of taxes and fees as of Jan. 2008= $125.00CAD
Flights originating from New York, NY Cost for round trip flight JFK-SJO-JFK is as follows: Canadian Participants: $265.00CAD (plus taxes & fees)

Flights originating from San Francisco, CA Cost for round trip flight SFO-SJO-SFO is as follows: Canadian Participants: $489.00CAD (plus taxes & fees)

Please note: An ISV “Group Flight” consists of 10 or more passengers. In the unlikely event ISV is unable to meet this minimum requirement on any given date; those affected by this will be notified via email approximately 60 days prior to departure. At this time a competitive “Individual Fare” will be quoted. Any deposit collected for the “Group Flight” will be applied to the “Individual Fare” if accepted. ISV participants will have 10 days to accept the “Individual Fare” or notify ISV of their choice to change to Own Flight status. Own Flight requirements are listed below.
Flight costs and taxes are subject to change due to fluctuating fuel surcharges, etc., implemented by the airlines. Prices may increase by as much as, but not more than $100.00CAD.
OPTION #2 / Custom Program Flights (Standard 4-Week Program with additional Projects and/or Tours)
All Custom Program participants are required to take a flight organized by ISV.
Custom Programs within Costa Rica only: Flight costs are the same as the Standard Group Flights above with the exception of a $160.00 CAD extension fee.
Custom Programs in multiple countries: Due to the complexity of ISV Custom Programs in multiple countries, the cost of airfare cannot be guaranteed at this time. ISV will provide a sample itinerary and quote of airfare within 15 business days of receipt of the required Flight/Options Form and applicable deposits. (The Flight/Options Form is due no later than 105 days prior to departure.)

OPTION #3 / Arrange Your Own Flight to Costa Rica (Standard 4-Week Program – including the Spanish Lessons Option)
All ISV Participants choosing to arrange their Own Flight to Costa Rica and participating in the Spanish Lesson Option must:
1. Schedule your flight to arrive at the same time or prior to the specific ISV Group Flight. * 2. Schedule your return flight to depart at the same time or soon after the specific ISV Group Flight. *
Whenarranging your Own Flight to Costa Rica, you must: Fly Into: San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO) Fly Out of: San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO)

Two-Week Volunteer Only participants must take the ISV Group Flight.Note: Participants choosing this option will be met at the San Jose Airport by their Host Family. More specific details about where to meet your Host Family will be sent to you via email prior to departure.
OPTION #4 / Arrange Your Own Flight to Costa Rica (Standard 4-Week Program - No Spanish Lessons Option)
All Standard 4-Week Participants choosing to arrange their Own Flight to Costa Rica not including the Spanish Lesson Option must:
1. Schedule your flight to arrive by 12:00 noon on Friday. 2. Schedule your return flight to depart anytime after 12:00 noon on Friday.
Whenarranging your Own Flight to Costa Rica, you must: Fly Into: San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO) Fly Out of: San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO)
Two-Week Volunteer Only participants must take the ISV Group Flight.Note: Anyone arriving later than the scheduled “Standard 4-Week Program Group Flight” will be responsible for arranging their own transportation to the Hotel America in Heredia. Participants are required to meet their group at the Hotel America by 12:00 noon on Friday. More specific details about where to meet the ISV group will be available in your Travel Manual.
Anyone deviating from the required “Group Flight” arrival and departure times listed will be responsible for any costs associated with domestic transportation to and from the airport and/or ISV Program location.
