OPTIONAL 5-DAY SPANISH LESSONS
(5-days prior to the start of your ISV program)

In every Latin country ISV offers incredible Spanish Language & Latin Dance Lessons which take place prior to the Volunteer Project. These Spanish Lessons are a MUST as they enhance your total ISV experience and enable you to converse with the locals. This is an invaluable opportunity for participants to develop and/or improve their Spanish language skills prior to beginning their ISV Volunteer Project, and includes an exciting introduction to Dominican culture.

Since the vast majority of ISV participants traveling to the Dominican Republic participate in the ISV Spanish Language & Latin Dance Lessons regardless of their Spanish language skills, ISV assumes your participation and will add the cost of the Spanish Lessons to your Program invoice. Any ISV participant who chooses to opt out of the Spanish Lessons (for example, you already speak fluent Spanish) must notify the ISV USA office via the Flight/Options Form (see below). Beginner, intermediate, and advanced Spanish Lessons are available.

These lessons consist of a five-day program that includes a four-day course of Spanish lessons, Latin dance classes, and a home stay with a local family so you can practice your Spanish daily. This is an incredible introduction to language and culture in your host country!

Logistics

Spanish Lessons participants will fly into Santiago, Dominican Republic on Sunday, five days before their ISV Program begins. Participants will be met at the Santiago Airport by their host family and taken to their home in the Santiago area.

Getting to your project:
At the conclusion of Spanish Lessons, ISV will arrange for participants to be picked up mid-day on Friday and transported to their Volunteer Projects.

Flights

ISV Group Flight to Spanish Lessons:

Arranging your Own Flight to Spanish Lessons:
Participants arranging their own flight must arrive on or before the ISV Group Flight (see "ISV Group Flight Details" page for specific arrival and departure times.)

Flight/Options Form

All participants must fill out a Flight/Options Form. Once you receive this Form, you will be required to send in the appropriate non-refundable desposits ($100 CAD Flight Deposit + $100 CAD Spanish Lessons Deposit). The Balance will be due with all other Program costs on or before 65 days prior to departure.
