ISV High School Program

Welcome to the Experience of a Lifetime!

ISV offers High School Students aged 15 – 18 the opportunity to travel with a purpose on a life-changing cultural experience like no other. Since 2002, over 13 000 students have travelled abroad with ISV to volunteer and make a difference during their summer break. Students over 18 may participate in our university (over 18 years old) program by Clicking Here.

The ISV program is a perfect choice for any student looking to expand their horizons and global awareness in a safe and controlled manner. Through hands on volunteer, exciting adventure travel, and interaction with the local communities, ISV is the perfect model for experiential learning. You will travel with other students under the supervision of ISV Project and Tour leaders and specially selected High School Leaders, who are generally teachers from your local schools.

The ISV program combines conservation, recreation, education and community development into the experience of a lifetime. Our program is suitable for anyone who desires to make a difference by volunteering in conservation or community development work, is open to enlightening encounters with other like-minded individuals, and thrives on exciting outdoor adventure activities!

So take the plunge, travel with ISV and make a difference this summer!

Who is ISV

Since 2002 over 13,000 students have volunteered with ISV and contributed invaluable volunteer hours to projects in New Zealand, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Thailand and Ecuador. ISV partners with hundreds of local host organisations to volunteer on meaningful projects that make a difference to the communities and natural environment of host countries. Our program staff include well trained university lecturers, PhD and university graduates who work with ISV guiding students from all over the world on our unique programs. ISV has also been recognised by a leading university in Australia for the outstanding educational emphasis of our programs with university enrolled students able to receive academic credit for taking part in the ISV program, as offered by RMIT.

Be a part of Something Big!
Last year ISV reached our one millionth hour of volunteer work, reaching impoverished people, endangered species and fostering responsible travel and cultural awareness around the world. The unique opportunity to make a difference by volunteering exists for high school students aged 15+ and teachers through our specialised programs in Costa Rica, The Dominican Republic, Thailand and New Zealand. Here you can travel with a purpose and literally change your life and the lives of those that you help (or the natural world) through your efforts.

"It has been an amazing life experience that I'm so glad to have had the opportunity to participate in. It has opened my eyes to a whole new culture & given me the chance to do something I may not have had the chance to do without ISV.”
Project: 5/5 Tour: 5/5.   Stephanie B, Upwey High School
